Would you like to brush up on your Chinese? Come join our program! In ten fun-filled days, you can learn a lot of Chinese. In the program, each participant will have a local “buddy” from Shanghai of similar age, who will not only practice Putonghua with his or her international partner, but also work on a project together.
    Participants will learn Peking opera mask painting, water-color painting, Chinese “knot”tying, Wushu and ceramics making. In addition to language and cultural activities, teams of Chinese and international students may choose one of the three projects, “Chinese Music and Movement”, “Shanghai Architecture Discovery”, and “Multimedia Artwork”.
    Of course, no summer camp would be complete without fun sightseeing and field trips. Students will go together to visit the Bund, the Shanghai Wild Animal Park, the Science and Technology Museum, the Film Studio, and the Wusong Warship among other trips. This year’s Summer Camp will be held at the Xiehe Bilingual School. Its features include multimedia classrooms, track and field, indoor swimming pool, indoor gymnasium, library, computer room, ceramics room, and well-equipped kitchen which serves yummy food. Each dormitory is air-conditioned, and sleeps four comfortably. Professional staff includes a school nurse on duty at all times.
    Good times are for sharing with others! Proceeds raised from art sales at the camp will be donated to a local Shanghai orphanage that the students will visit on the last day. Many camp activities will also be videotaped, so you can share your happy holiday with family and friends upon your return.
